AIGIALOS TRADITIONAL SETTLEMENT SANTORINI HOTEL GREECE

PHOTOS

DESCRIPTION

Our establishment, in the most desirable location in Fira quiet and peaceful, yet not too far from the hustle and bustle, is a microcosm
of the town, a delightful mixture of vernacular and neoclassical architecture.

On the very rim of the caldera, the most spectacular spot in Santorini, overlooking the volcano and the Aegean Sea, blessed with the loveliest sunset in the world, Aigialos is a neighborhood on the southwest Fira.

Located next to the Byzantine church of Christ, Aigialos is a complex of 16 luxurious traditional and neoclassical houses combing the charm of Cycladic architecture with all modern comforts.

FACILITIES

Most of our houses have a spacious, full-length sitting room with vaulted ceiling, off which leads the master bedroom with internal windows and sills, where one can dream of other worlds and other ages.

They are air-conditioned throughout and equipped with mini-bar, Satellite TV, CD player, direct dial facilities and safe boxes. Marble reigns throughout, on the floors, on the verandas, in the bathrooms.

Balconies and verandas overlook the spectacular Caldera, Volcano, Aegean Sea and the world's most glorious sunset. Aigialos also offers pool snack bar, swimming pool equipped with cold water Jacuzzi and a counter-swim unit, 24h room service, twice daily maid service.

ACCOMMODATION

The Aigialos Collection consists of sixteen, renovated neoclassical houses that were originally the fine homes of the island's noble captain families. The architecture and design of the houses bring to life the traditional way of life of the island's nobility. Restored to perfection by master masons using local volcanic stone and coloured lime plaster, the houses are linked by cobbled walkways. Situated on the rim of the caldera, sheer cliffs that rise from the sea, the hotel overlooks the island's famed volcano.

Set among quaint cobbled walkways, all 16 houses named after the winds, offer a magnificent view of the caldera, the volcano and the Aegean from their verandas and balconies. Each house has been remodeled especially for discerning guests, to the highest specifications yet with absolute respect for tradition.

The buildings have been restored by master masons using local volcanic stone and colored lime plaster, using the same techniques as their forefathers. The houses combine the traditional nobility and beauty of the Cycladic architecture with discreet luxury and ever-modern convenience.
